About Dairy Desk Tools

Dairy Desk Tools makes free calculators and plain-language guides for small and medium dairy farmers, especially in South Asia and the Gulf, and for anyone planning to start a dairy farm.

Who is behind this site

Dairy Desk Tools is run by a family that owns and operates its own dairy farm. The questions these tools answer are the ones we deal with ourselves: what the herd costs to feed each day, how much space a shed needs, how much ghee our milk will give, and whether the month made a profit. We built the tools to make those everyday sums quick and clear, and shared them so other farmers can use them too.

How the tools are made

• Every formula comes from a published source: university extension services, dairy research papers and national livestock housing standards.
• Each page shows the sum behind the result and lists its sources at the bottom.
• Source references and assumptions are explained on each calculator and the methodology page.

What the tools are not

Results are estimates for planning. They do not replace a vet, a nutritionist or a qualified builder. For animal health decisions, always speak to a vet.
